About me

I am a digital craftsman and a soul skateboarder in search of innovative and impactful visual solutions.

The 'Do it Yourself' (DIY) philosophy has profoundly impacted my approach to graphic design. I have always been drawn to the uninhibited creativity and distinctive aesthetics that characterize skaters and their environment. The need for personal expression and the quest for individuality are fundamental pillars of this culture, reflected not only in the tricks on the board but also in the visual art and design that surround this movement.

The DIY principle especially resonated with me. As a skater, I built my own ramps and repaired my boards with ingenuity and skill, learning to approach graphic design with a similar mindset. This mentality taught me to create my own solutions and express my vision authentically, seeking alternative solutions with non-traditional digital tools, such as Processing, which allows me to generate "out-of-the-box" designs, or Fontstruct, an online tool for creating modular typefaces.

Graffiti, on the other hand, also played a crucial role in my fascination with typography. This influence became a constant source of inspiration, driving me to explore typography as a means to communicate identity and feeling in my graphic designs.

My Peruvian identity, moreover, has enriched my graphic designs with a distinctive cultural richness. The vibrant mix of pre-Columbian iconography, indigenous, colonial, and contemporary influences is reflected in my work, bringing a unique and multicultural perspective to my design projects.

In summary, all these factors have not only shaped my approach to graphic design but have also influenced my attitude toward life: fostering creativity, authenticity, and perseverance in the pursuit of my creative goals.
